Federation Weekend, Interlaken

Only 2 members of our club enrolled for the weekend - a great pity because it was a very good weekend, with the usual rather obscure games on Saturday afternoon and a Gala Dinner Dance in the evening with the Duo Stingray playing and singing hits from the 60s and 70s and the floor full of geriatric jivers!
As noted on the front page Fribourg was awarded the Maisie Bienz cup for their efforts in getting the Federation Golf Challenge going and for initiating the Car Rally again. Our president was able to receive the Cup from the hands of the British Ambassador, Sarah Gillett, at the Lunch following the Committee Meeting on Saturday.

Fribourg also did exceptionally well in the sports, perhaps even beating St. Gallen in the total of awards - these two clubs taking more than half the awards!
Gloria Jensen won the Ladies Bowling competition and our President, Hartmut came second in the men's one. On the day, Rose-Marie won the Golf putting competition and came second in the Ladies' Horseshoe Throw. I was lucky enough to win the Mens' Horseshoe. So 3 Golds and 2 Silvers to add to the big cup!
Photos include the follow-up ceremony at Fribowling where the awards were passed on to their proper owners (more are coming from the Federation!)!
