Jul Klapp and Talk

First of all Karin Bachmann, a student writer also working at 80% to fund her hobby, spoke about how she got the inspiration for her book when she saw a girl displaying an artificial leg in the Scilly Isles. She proceeded to  read excerpts from her book "The Venetian Pearls", a whodunit for children aged 8-12. Most interesting was the final part when she talked about the problems facing an amateur writer getting a book published at all and the new possibilities that are opening up for these people to perform "do-it-yourself" publishing with the aid of the internet.
We then stopped for refreshments and then proceeded to the "secret" exchange of gifts which is known as Jul Klapp.   Everyone had a lot of fun as you can see below:
