The Hebrides Revisited

Ann Williams gave a very interesting presentation on the Outer Hebrides as they are today and as she remembered them from visiting her schoolteacher uncle there as a teenager, It was remarkable how little had changed, mainly improvements to the roads and the creation of interesting sites for tourists. She even managed to find people who remembered her uncle - well known in his time for possessing the only sports car on the island which he used to give music lessons to the children in all the schools despite being based in Stornoway. We also learned about developments in Harris tweed but not why it is not called Lewis tweed after the main part of the island.
